Confusion at Nkwatia Hospital over fake death claim

Confusion broke out at Kwahu Nkwatia Government Hospital after a family was wrongly informed that their relative had died, only to later discover he was alive. The incident involved a middle-aged man identified as Mr Ketekra, who had been receiving treatment at the facility for over three weeks. According to reports, the patient’s family had allegedly failed to visit him or respond to repeated calls from the hospital to settle his medical bills. Nurses at the facility were said to have taken care of him during this period, covering expenses including feeding. Frustrated by the situation, the nurses reportedly devised a plan with the patient to prank the family into responding. They allegedly visited the family and informed them that Mr Ketekra had died. Shocked by the news, the family rushed to the hospital in mourning attire to retrieve the body. Upon arrival, they were asked to settle all outstanding medical bills before the body could be released. After making the payment, the family was reportedly stunned when they were led to the ward and found Mr Ketekra alive, sitting on his bed. The incident sparked tension and confusion between the family and hospital staff. One family member, who identified himself as the patient’s brother, denied claims that they had abandoned him, insisting they had been involved in his care.
